Article I: Talk Show Prohibition

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: May 13, 1996    Ratified: July 29, 1996
Shows of a talk show nature are prohibited to the Top 25 Shows chart.

Article II: TV-MA Prohibition

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: October 8, 1997     Ratified: December 2, 1997
Shows that are at the TV-MA rating is prohibited to the charts.

Article III: #1 Article

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: September 11, 1999    Ratified: September 14, 1999
If #1 show is removed from #1 position due to cancellation or resignation, a show is allowed to debut at #1 or else #2 show will become #1.

Article IV: New Charts Article

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: December 26, 1999      Ratified: January 21, 2000
New Top 25 Shows charts will be posted on the 28th of every month. Except for the March list where it will be posted on the 25th of February.

Article V: Re-Entry Limit

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: July 24, 2000      Ratified: October 6, 2000
Shows are limited to five (5) re-entries.

Article VI: Low Rank Limit

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: April 17, 2001    Ratified: May 2, 2001
Shows are removed from the Top 25 Shows chart if the show is on the chart for six months and rank below 15.

Article VII: Number 25 Article

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: March 27, 2001    Ratified: June 18, 2001
Shows cannot debut or re-enter at No. 24 or 25.

Article VIII: Ties at #1 on the Top 10

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: July 10, 2001    Ratified: August 2, 2001
Ties at #1 on Top 10 Shows of the week charts are counted as half of a week at #1.

Article IX: Free Weeks at #1

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: July 31, 2001    Ratified: August 19, 2001
For every five consecutive weeks at #1, shows are eligible to one free week.

Article X: Top Re-Entry Positions

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: September 22, 2000    Ratified: September 13, 2001
Shows cannot re-enter at #1.

Article XI: Gain Article

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: November 16, 2001     Ratified: January 8, 2002
Shows cannot gain to #1 from #25.

Article XII: Year-End Article

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: November 5, 2002     Ratified: November 28, 2002
If shows debuts at No. 1, they are automatically eligible for a top-5 finish on the year-end wrap-up.

Article XIII: Top 10 Grossing Limit

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: November 26, 2001     Ratified: December 9, 2002
Shows gross unit amounts are now limited to 500 million grosses.

Article XIV: End-of-the-year Bonus

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: August 27, 2002     Ratified: December 18, 2002
The top-3 shows on the 52nd week of the year are entitled to an end-of-the-year gross bonus. Amount of grosses vary by finishing position. These are the amounts that a show can gross.

1st: 1 billion grosses
2nd: 500 million grosses
3rd: 250 million grosses

Article XV: Number 25 Article (Re-Entry) Repealed

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: June 11, 2003    Ratified: June 14, 2003
Shows can now re-enter at No. 24 and 25.

Article XVI: TV-MA Prohibition Repealed

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: June 27, 2003     Ratified: July 5, 2003
TV-MA rated shows are now allowed on Top 25 Shows chart.

Article XVII: End-of-the-Quarter Bonus

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: December 11, 2003     Ratified: December 26, 2003      Updated: June 18, 2005
Shows are entitled to an end-of-the-quarter gross bonus if they lead the quarter for the entire 13-week period. The amount of grosses varies by quarter. These are the amounts that a show can gross.

1st and 2nd quarter: 300 million grosses
3rd quarter: 400 million grosses
4th quarter: 500 million grosses

Article XVIII: Free Weeks at No. 1 Limit

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: August 22, 2003     Ratified: January 24, 2004
Shows free weeks earned after five consecutive weeks at No. 1 must be used at least one year from the date they are obtained.

Article XIX: End-of-the-year Bonus Article Change

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: March 1, 2004     Ratified: September 1, 2004
The top-5 shows on the 52nd week of the year are entitled to an end-of-the-year gross bonus. Amount of grosses vary by finishing position. These are the amounts that a show can gross.

1st: 1 billion grosses

3rd: 600 million grosses
4th: 400 million grosses
5th: 200 million grosses

Article XX: Free Weeks at No. 1 Repealed

Free weeks at No. 1 is hereby repealed.

Article XXI: Talk Show Prohibition Repealed

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: June 21, 2007     Ratified: July 9, 2007
Talk shows are now allowed in Top 25 Shows.

Article XXII: Year-End Article Repealed

Proposed by Top 25 Shows: November 12, 2007      Ratified: November 27, 2007
Due to the three No. 1 debuts in 2007, No. 1 debuts automatically eligible for Top-5 finish is hereby repealed. 

Article XXIII: Low Rank Limit Repealed
